Questions, answered

Everything parents usually ask — from choosing a session to finding the studio — in one place.

01Sessions & booking

Choosing and booking a session.

All sessions & pricing

Which session should I choose?

The Every Days for a short portrait of one or two people. The Birthdays to mark a birthday. The Family Days for your whole family together. The Early Days for a calm, baby-led newborn session. The Bump Days if you’re expecting — a focused bump portrait, or a fuller session with partner and children.

Are digital photographs included?

Yes. Every session includes the edited digital photographs listed in its description. You never need to purchase your gallery separately.

How many people can join The Every Days?

It’s designed for one or two: one child, two siblings, Mommy and Me, Daddy and Me. For a full family gallery, choose The Family Days.

Can grandparents join our family session?

Yes — grandparents are welcome in The Family Days. Larger extended-family sessions involving several households are available by request.

Are the sessions posed?

Lightly guided rather than heavily posed. We help with positioning, movement, and light, and leave room for the expressions you actually recognise.

What if my child doesn’t cooperate?

Nobody needs to be perfectly behaved or camera-ready. We’re used to shyness, big energy, and changing moods. If we genuinely can’t create the gallery your session includes, we’ll arrange a short follow-up at no extra cost.

When should I book a newborn session?

Reserve The Early Days while you’re expecting, using your due date as a guide. Once your baby arrives we’ll confirm the final date with you.

What should we wear?

Every session includes wardrobe guidance ahead of your shoot. Wear what feels like you, works naturally together, and lets everyone move. We’d skip logos and heavy patterns — neutrals always look great, and rainbow dresses are welcome too.

Can I add balloons or a cake smash?

Yes. Balloons and cake smash styling can be added to eligible birthday sessions at booking. We provide the cake and the balloons.

Do I have to buy printed artwork?

No. Your edited digital photographs are included and printed artwork is entirely optional. Every session can include an appointment with our gallery concierge, virtually or in the studio.

When will we receive our photographs?

Your photographs will be delivered within 5 days of your shoot.

What is your cancellation policy?

Plans change, especially with kids. You can reschedule your session free of charge up to 48 hours before your appointment. Changes made within 48 hours are subject to a $50 rescheduling fee. If you cancel, your booking deposit is non-refundable. Cancellations within 48 hours are charged at 50% of the session price, and same-day cancellations or no-shows are charged in full.

When are you open, and when can I reach you?

We’re open Wednesday – Sunday, 9:30am – 4:30pm, and closed Monday and Tuesday. Those are also the hours to call or text 929-673-1526 — outside them, email hello@dayseestudio.com and we’ll come back to you when we open.

What if I’m running late?

Family life is unpredictable, so we hold your session time for 15 minutes. After that we’ll still do our best, though your session may be shortened or involve a short wait depending on the day. Call 929-673-1526 as soon as you know, with your best guess at arrival.

Can I bring a stroller?

Please do. There’s plenty of room to park a stroller and spread out with little ones.

Do you have a baby changing table?

Yes — our bathroom is equipped with a baby change table and changing essentials in case you’re in a pinch.

What is there for babies and kids?

A baby change table, drinks and snacks for kids, and plenty to keep all ages entertained while we shoot.

What about public transport?

Subway — 15 minutes from Bedford Ave (L), 15 from Marcy Ave (J/M/Z). Ferry — 10 minutes from South Williamsburg. Bus — the B32 and Q59 stop at Wythe Ave/S 3rd St and Wythe Ave/S 5th St, one to three minutes away.

Can our dog come?

Pooches are family too, so yes — but not every day. Look out for our regularly scheduled pet portrait and pet-friendly sessions.

03After your session

Galleries, prints, and keeping them.

See the artwork

How are the photographs delivered?

In a private online gallery, edited in color with studio-selected black and white, ready to download and keep.

What is the gallery concierge session?

Can I order more prints later?
